Join the Landscape Architecture Alumni Connection at UCLA Extension
To Learn From Award Winning, Master Garden Photographer - Saxon Holt
Saturday, March 16 -and- Sunday, March 17, 2019
7:30 am - 12:30 pm (followed by lunch)
Attend one or both days. Saturday will cover Basic Composition, while Sunday will focus on Thinking Like a Camera. Similar concepts and practices will be covered each day, but with enough variation that both days will be a unique experience.
All levels of experience are welcome, but these workshops are organized for serious garden photographers. Cameras, tripods, and laptops with editing capability are highly recommended.
Space is limited to 15 people each day - Get your ticket now before the event sells out. Lunch is included.
Itinerary
-- 7:30 am - meet in Bamboo Room for a brief (30 minute) intro and assignment
-- Go out to garden to shoot assignment (45 minutes to an hour)
-- Come back to classroom to download and select 2-3 images to contribute to group critique, repeat until time runs out.
-- Followed by lunch at The Arboretum
Saturday, March 16, 2019 – Basic Composition: Fill the Frame and Storytelling
Sunday, March 17, 2019 – Think Like A Camera: Focal Points and Points of View
Note:
-- Strongly recommend a 35mm camera and tripod
-- Laptop with card reader and editing software
-- Comfortable clothes, snacks and water
